File browser window flickers

Description

When browsing the filesystem for a picture to use as the desktop background, or to use as an app's icon, the left-most bar denoting the common bookmarks flickers constantly. It appears like it's being refreshed constantly.

The other panes are fine. If I click fast enough on the flickering pane, I will eventually be able to select. I suspect I can't create events during the redraw period.

Other than that difficulty, the selection process works fine.

I don't know if it's all such boxes - it always happens to me with (Enlightenment -> Configuration -> Wallpaper -> Picture ...) as well as (Edit Icon on an app -> Icon).

Can you please provide the output of:

lshal
ls -a ~/.e/e/fileman/favorites

Then try

rm ~/.e/e/fileman/.order

See if the problem is still there. Then try removing files that start with a | and have a .desktop extension. Like |storage_serial_HD59_079720_0.desktop. Remove them one by one and check when the bug goes away (it should go away ;)). Then tell us about the results.

Thank you for taking a moment to report the bug.

  • attachment favs added

ls -al .e/e/fileman/favorites

Yep - as soon as I removed the file "|60C9-2A94.desktop", the flickering stopped. Now, it populates the favorites pane and is done with it.

Thanks for taking a moment to respond!

I should note that "60C9-2A94" is the HAL UUID for a removable disk I use regularly. It now pops up as the HAL name instead. Thanks!
