Segfault with online theme downloader

Description

E17 (svn 40163) systematically crashes when doing:

left click on desktop -> configuration -> theme selector -> online

if you close the window where themes would be displayed quick enough (when no data has yet been downloaded?).

Issue confirmed. The attached diffs can solve the issue (also present in wallpaper module), but I need a review from others before commit.

better doing that in a function in exchange. Btw, it seems that Dave added a note about that in Exchange.
